The Perioperative Care-Prehabilitation group webinar: March 2026

In this webinar, the Perioperative Prehabilitation Group are joined by Bristol Myers Squib who will share more about their collaboration work in prehabilitation.

About this event

The session will cover the recent publication of a Collaborative Working Project between Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS) and Macmillan. This project demonstrates the value of prehabilitation outside of surgical settings. In it, Macmillan and BMS worked with NHS Trusts to build a validated prehabilitation dataset, helping to share knowledge and best practice and support wider NHS adoption of prehabilitation.

The goal was to support the adoption of prehabilitation as an integral part of a re-designed cancer treatment pathway, and understand how prehabilitation could:

  • Improve patients’ experience and outcomes by better preparing them for treatment and by improving their tolerance of treatment.
  • Reduce pressure on cancer teams, wider clinical teams and hospital beds, by enabling a more efficient flow of patients and reducing unplanned care contacts.

Speakers

Guest speakers for this session are:

  • Ben Mitchell: Director of Policy, Advocacy & Government Affairs at Bristol Myers Squib
  • Jake Clements from IQVIA
  • June Davies, Lead Nursing Adviser at Macmillan Cancer Support
