Support for Quality Management Systems

Help for organisations to develop and embed effective and joined up approaches to planning, controlling, improving and assuring quality.

We support NHS organisations and systems to develop and embed effective Quality Management Systems (QMS).

Drawing on experience from across the UK and Ireland, we offer practical, evidence‑informed support tailored to local context. Our services include:

  • producing insight
  • strategic QMS advice
  • senior leader and board development
  • facilitated learning networks, visits and events
  • a comprehensive suite of accessible tools and resources.

Through robust insight, peer learning, real‑world case examples and hands‑on support, we help organisations move beyond isolated improvement activity. We can help you to build coherent, sustainable approaches to quality across your organisation or system, which are integrated into everyday work.

Case study: QMS in Wales

This project was delivered in partnership with Quality Improvement Clinic.

We are delivering a comprehensive programme supporting the development of Quality Management Systems (QMS) across NHS Wales, as part of their Safe Care Partnership.

Combining QMS expertise with our understanding of the Welsh context, we co-designed a five‑workstream programme that built leadership capability and strengthened organisational systems.

The work included a national QMS learning network for senior leaders, board‑level development sessions, prototyping QMS at directorate level, and creating practical QMS tools, resources and staff education materials.

Together, this supported the cultural and system conditions needed to deliver high‑quality, safe and continuously improving care in Wales.
