- Support leaders to innovate, design and deliver effective interventions for system-wide improvement.
- Learn from successful approaches across the UK.
This service is delivered in partnership with The NHS Alliance.
Case study: Supporting system-wide CVD prevention
This project was delivered by Q and the NHS Alliance, and sponsored by Novartis.
We designed and delivered a programme to support system-wide cardiovascular disease (CVD) prevention across West Yorkshire and Birmingham and Solihull (BSOL) ICBs.
Using our Cross-System Improvement Framework, we aimed to create a shared understanding of CVD prevention, clarify the leadership role of ICBs, and build collective commitment to scaling effective practice.
We ran two facilitated workshops and surfaced insights which created protected space for multidisciplinary teams to reflect on their progress, explore shared challenges and identify collaboration opportunities. The work has contributed to tangible system impact, including reinforcing national lipid management guidance across primary care in West Yorkshire, and timely input into BSOL’s consultation process.
We’re excited about the potential for this type of work to support collaborative care closer to home and the implementation of the 10-year plan.
