Mindfulness and co-production in public policy

Come and explore the intersection of mindfulness and co-production through a service design lens, grounded in real-world insights and data.

About this event

The terms mindfulness and co-production appear with increasing frequency in the landscape of public services and public policy in the UK. Both it seems with an aspiration to help us do our jobs well and to deliver better services to the people we are here to support.

In this session Pegs Bailey will share findings from her MSc on Mindfulness and Public Policy and will explore:

  •  What mindfulness and co-production mean in practice in public service contexts
  • Whether mindfulness practices can support our capacity for co-production
  • What lessons can be learned from the Welsh Government experience of training senior civil servants in mindfulness and behaviour change from 2014–2020?

Pegs has worked extensively in the fields of employability, mental health and the third sector in Scotland. In the last 8 years she has specialised in service design, co-production and understanding how we can support more complexity-oriented policy.  In 2024 Pegs completed an MSc in Mindfulness Studies with the University of Aberdeen.
