The impact of storytelling in health: creative communication in health and care

Hear a case study on how a play, a film and an educational resource supported health work

About this session

Hear from Lesley Goodburn, Head of Public Involvement and Engagement at National Institute of Health and Care Excellence (NICE), on how she shared her personal experience of end of life care via a play, a film and an educational resource – and how sharing her personal story shaped her work in NHS England and current work at NICE.

This is the second session in our new series, led by the Power of Storytelling in Health Special Interest Group. The impact of storytelling in health explores the overall impact of storytelling in health and care, covering how storytelling can be used to influence policy, different methods of telling stories and the link between stories and quantitative and qualitative data. Join us to learn more about how stories can be used as an improvement methodology and how they promote understanding, learning and empathy.
