About the event
Mary Lavender, a specialist Speech and Language Therapist from Northumberland Tyne & Wear NHS Foundation Trust, will examine how AI can help close the disability gap by supporting greater accessibility in work and everyday life. Mary will focus on real-life practical examples and inclusive implementation of related technologies.
Dr Payal Ghatnekar from Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust will tell the story and share lessons-learned from developing her trust’s AI policy. The policy was informed by a digital literacy and inclusion project which was shortlisted for a 2025 HSJ award.
James Freed, Deputy Director, The Digital Academy, NHSE, and Dr Jeffry Hogg, Clinician Scientist, UHB Trust, will also lead a bite-sized AI learning session.
Who should attend?
This meeting is for anyone who may have an interest in or use AI to improve services and outcomes in health and social care across all roles. AI Ambassador Network meetings offer the opportunity to discuss all issues relating to AI and for members to shape the network’s focus and to get a regular update on AI regulation. Membership is drawn from and has relevance to all healthcare settings and the utilisation of AI (potential or ongoing), in line with the NHS 10 Year plan, and the Healthcare AI Roadmap which is currently being developed with AI Ambassador members.
