The Perioperative Care-Prehabilitation group monthly webinar

This month’s webinar will provide an overview of NIHR-funded project, Inclusive Prehabilitation (I‑Prehab).

I‑Prehab is an education toolkit for cancer care workers enabling them to support inclusive prehabilitation. Key findings from the first three phases of the research will be presented, along with preliminary findings from phase 4, which is ongoing. 

The project phases are as follows:

•    Phase 1: Literature review about access and engagement with cancer prehab
•    Phase 2: Exploration of cancer prehab services across Wales and experiences of patients and staff
•    Phase 3: I‑Prehab education development: Workshops with diverse groups across Wales, NHS staff and third sector stakeholders 
•    Phase 4: Assess the acceptability and impact of I‑Prehab education

The Perioperative Care-Prehabilitation group is hosted by Macmillan Cancer Support and the Centre for Perioperative Care (CPOC), a partnership between health charities, professional organisations, patient organisations and several leading Royal Colleges. The focus of this group is on prehabilitation and rehabilitation, specifically supporting and optimising peoples’ physical and mental health in advance of, during and beyond treatment for cancer and other long-term conditions.
