Insight project explores COVID-19 backlogs

Find out about our collaborative research with Q members exploring backlogs created by COVID-19 and potential improvement solutions.

Before the COVID-19 pandemic, the health and care system faced the challenge of long waiting times for routine treatments.

The pressure put on the system to tackle COVID-19 required rapid re-prioritisation of resources and delivery changes to both manage the effects of the pandemic and meet social distancing requirements.

As a result, the scale of the challenge of addressing the backlogs of care has increased.

We believe that improvement and improvers have the opportunity and potential to provide effective solutions to this challenge.

Our insight project set out to give improvers the opportunity to come together, share experiences and spotlight the best solutions.
