Same Day Emergency Care in Community Hospitals

Join the Community Hospitals (CHA) Q Group in their first discussion of 2025.

 Sue Greenwood MBE QN from Cornwall NHS FT will talk about Cornwall’s innovative Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) initiative, which has successfully diverted 80 critically ill patients from A&E this winter, and significantly reduced the pressure on acute services within the Trust. The session will be chaired by the Group’s Co-Convenor Evelyn Prodger.

Supported by Q, the CHA Group sessions bring together people who are passionate about community hospitals. Each session features a presentation about an exciting, innovative project and is followed by discussion and Q & A. They’re an excellent opportunity to learn, share ideas and network with others.

The Community Hospitals: sharing good practice group has a focus on sharing good practice and networking. The group brings together members who want to explore their experiences, look at measures of quality, discuss continual and sustainable quality improvements, and who have an aim to facilitate spread and adoption of good practice.
